Nikkei Matsuri
Nikkei Matsuri
【Event Details】 This year kicks off with a lively DJ dance party at the pre-festival! During the main festival on Saturday and Sunday, you can enjoy the full festival experience with yukata rentals for photos, Bon Odori dancing around the yagura tower, and a portable shrine (mikoshi) parade. There will also be delicious food stalls and a Beer & Sake Garden serving cold beer and Japanese sake. On stage, there will be over 20 performances, including powerful taiko drumming, impressive sword fighting and martial arts demonstrations, and a performance by a shamisen player visiting from Japan. Inside the building, there will be an anime and flea market, as well as a Pokémon League. New for 2026, we are introducing the "Fun Park," a free-admission outdoor area featuring kids' crafts and cultural experiences, making family-friendly activities even better! Proceeds from Nikkei Matsuri support the preservation of Japanese Canadian history and culture, as well as building maintenance. Don't miss this chance to experience Japanese culture while supporting community activities! 【Who Can Attend】 Everyone is welcome to join us. 【Schedule】 Date and Time: Pre-festival: September 4 (Fri) 15:00 - 22:00 Main festival: September 5 (Sat) & 6 (Sun) 11:00 - 19:00 Tickets: Advance tickets $12 / Door tickets $15 (Please check the official website for details on free admission and other policies) Volunteers are also welcome!
